If you are looking to hit the beach(not the Inlet) in New Smyrna for an uncrowded set and get some waves, you have no way to check it. Enter this blog. I am up early every day taking my son to school and always stop and check the surf around 3rd ave.and normally take a picture. I am dedicating myself to you the surfer and this blog. I will post that picture here along with what i see. I may give updates through out the day as well if there is significant change in the waves. Hope it helps.

Its good. It's clean and in the chest to head high range go surf. Sorry bout the blurry pic.
